Today I am going to show you some items that you can select from, that will not only increase your sense of safety by 1,000% – but that will keep those you love – SAFE– while at home or when your away and keep that expensive jewelry you have bought each other, your lap top computers and other expensive items and keepsakes – right where they belong –inside your PROTECTED home !
My expertise comes from a Company that I co-owned.
My company sold and installed both – Residential and Commercial Security Systems. Home Security Systems back then were very expensive. Then on top of that – we sold security system “MONITORING” for a monthly FEE ! In my professional opinion Security System Live Monitoring is not worth the cost !! And YES some of them are pretty expensive – and they are actually pretty good – but there are dozens of systems out there to accomplish what you feel you need for your family and home and at VERY AFFORDABLE prices. You just need some help with what the different systems do and help with determining how to best protect your home and property.
Some of you are saying – “I don’t need a system – I will just call the police department !– they are only a couple of blocks away – and they can come and deal with the INTRUDER (S) ! If that were only true – that a Police Officer can just jump in his car and be at your home in just a few minutes would be awesome. (in your dreams)
In reality – there are a lot of factors that determine how fast the police department responds. 1. Other calls they are on. 2. Where you live 3. Weather conditions and more. With burglaries every 15 seconds -there are not enough police.
From my experience in this industry – I would STRONGLY suggest – that you put in various items that makes it harder for an intruder to get into your home and if by chance they do get in to your home – and they know they have been detected, the faster they get out of your home before being actually caught. Generally, they take little to nothing at all. If a burglar breaks into a home and he doesn’t know that he has been detected – he is only in the home on an average of 8-10 minutes and takes more than you want them to. That’s Less time than it takes an Alarm System Monitoring company to call the Police and have the Police arrive 99% of the time ! With the above information – doesn’t it make sense to do all you can do to stop the Intruders from wanting to Burglarize Your Home !!
The items I will highlight and suggest below – will be those that will: 1. Discourage a Burglar from wanting to burglarize your home. 2. Have items in place that will make it as difficult as possible for the Burglar to get inside your home. 3. Make the Burglar aware that he has been detected the second he gets inside your home 4. Make it as painful as possible for the Burglar so they will want to get out of your home ASAP.

Items 1 &2: The first objective to prevent a burglar from selecting your home is simple if you think about it. When do most burglaries occur ? (nightime) Why ? because they don’t want to be detected ! So just keep you home “WELL LIT” on the outside ! Anywhere that a burglar could enter – light it up ! Outdoor Motion Activated Spotlights – strategically placed -when adjusted properly- Turn on when Motion is sensed. They can stay on for selected periods of times. When a vulnerable entry place is lit up Burglars leave as it is much easier for someone to see them & catch them.
Item 3: Placing “Security Signage” in your yard where it is very visible is very effective in helping to keep Burglars from considering your home to burglarize. By placing window Alarm Appliques on back/sliding doors, or windows – if a burglar attempts to come into your yard from the back or side yard and your Spot Lights turn on and if those don’t scare them – then they see the Alarm Applique on the sliding door or window – they think twice as they don’t know if you have a system or not.
Item 4: If a Burglar is bold enough to still try to break in to your house – they generally try areas like: Your Back Doors. The “Home Security Door Lock” is a Winner ! I have installed these on my basement entry doors. Very easy to install and they take more than double the weight of a Deadbolt to break in. These are a must for me to protect my family when they are in the house !
Item 5: Some burglars are really good at picking door locks – especially those made before 2010. Not only can you buy the tools to do it on line – they have very detailed instructions on how to do it. There are many Keyless Door Lock answers.
Items 6 & 7: Other places that Burglars like to hide and break in to are – Window Wells. They are generally on sides and backs of homes. The latches on the sliding windows are easy to compromise. In addition – Glass sliding doors are quite easy to get through their door latches. The sliding door and window locks are great – and I have even used small adjustable Closet Rods.
Item: 8 & 9: If the Burglars do make it in to your home – you need to have a system that immediately lets the Burglars and those in the home know that they have been detected. An effective Burglar Alarm system, like Simpli Safe has various detection items and includes at least (1) Siren mounted inside the house – so that the sirens sound drives the burglars bonkers and want to leave immediately. I prefer to have at least one siren on each level as well as one for each 1200 sq. feet of area. I also prefer to mount a siren on the exterior of the home, letting others know what is going on so they might see a description of the Burglars. Other items for your home security system in the Simpli Safe Security kit – are glass breakage/sound sensors. Should a Burglar think he might avoid the door sensors and break a window to in – he won’t get in un-noticed. When the Glass breaks -The Glass Breakage sensor will set the complete system off and most likely he will get the heck out of there.
Item 10: Security Cameras values are to record movement Outside the Home and with the “Light Socket Security Camera” you can record movement and sound – both inside and outside your house. This Security Camera is the simplest to hook up of them all. Just screw it into a light socket. It works with your phone so you can speak to people the camera picks up and the camera rotates to where ever the movement is. The price for this is unbelievable. As a side note – if you want to record activities like opening Christmas presents, parties etc., you can mount this camera to a tri-pod and it works great !
Items 11 & 12: Both the Simpli Safe and the Ring Doorbell cameras are good for Not Only functioning as a Doorbell – but they allow you to use the ap on your smart phone to speak to the persons at the door. Both can Record the movement and images – so you know who is at your door before you go to your door. You can even be 1000 miles away and if the Doorbell picks up movement and or a doorbell ring – you will be able to see the person and speak to them – again even though a 1,000 miles away !
As a summary: FIND ALL ITEMS ON AMAZON !
Step 1. Install motion activated, outside lighting.
Step 2. Put up Security Signage in your yard and Alarm stickers on the most vulnerable windows. Step 3. Install Home Security Door locks to make breaking down doors 2-3 x – harder than deadbolts.
4. Install a digital Door Lock. They are much harder to compromise than a Key Lock Dead Bolt.
5. For sliding Doors and Windows – either the Sliding Door Window locks or the Adjustable Closet rods placed in the window/door channels do the trick.
6. For in home protection, either Simpli Safe or Ring’s security systems are very effective and easy to install.
7. Place a minimum of 1 Siren indoors and 1 Siren outdoors. Burglars cannot stand the sound and leave.
8. Set up the Light Socket Security Camera on the back patio – to record everything going on.
9. Select either the Simpli Safe or Ring Door Bell that allows you to see who is at your door via your phone. They also record all motion and sounds.
IF YOUR BUDGET IS TIGHT START WITH THE ITEMS IN STEP 1, THEN WHEN YOU CAN AFFORD MORE– GET THE ITEMS IN STEP 2 AND SO ON !
